WCEN began as an idea we have gone from strength to strength over the years  with the help of a great team

Malik Gul
Malik Gul is Director of Wandsworth Community Empowerment Network, which was a founder member of the Boroughs Local Strategic Partnership. Over a career spanning 35 years in the frontline of community-public service, he has been election agent to the Handsworth Peoples Campaign in 1981 through to lead voluntary sector officer to Southwark LSP, before joining the Network in 2003. Malik is also undertaking PhD research at Imperial College London on public-health policy, systems and social networks.

Ruth McKinney
Ruth McKinney worked at WCEN 2007-2008 during her gap year and again doing contract work after she graduated from the University of Exeter gaining a BA (Hons) in Theology. She rejoined the organisation in September 2016 after being a General Manager of pubs for years. She now Manages all the WCEN Projects, Information and Communications.

Anita Richards
Anita Richards has a rich background in community empowerment and development, working and volunteering with many local groups in Wandsworth, and now works part-time here at WCEN on community development and particularly on the Young People and BME Mental Heath Project
