Black Minds Matter
To address BME over-representation in adult mental health services, we must support distressed children and young people early on. Black Minds Matter focuses on understanding their challenges and finding solutions.
Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project (EMHIP)
Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project (EMHIP), born from the Healing our Broken Village Conference in 2009, is a 13-year journey to tackle ethnic inequalities in mental health services. We collaborate with service users, community partners, and agencies to drive change.
Home Placement Program
The CEN Home Placement Project places individuals at risk of being sectioned under the Mental Health Act with compassionate host families from the Black African and Caribbean community for a period of up to two weeks. Host Families receive training in mental health care and cultural support to provide a welcoming environment.
The Lived Experience Assessment Panel
The LEAP (Lived Experience Assessment Panel) project engages individuals with Lived Experience in Mental Health who have used community-based services, especially the Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. Our mission: bridge the gap between those who've faced mental health challenges and traditional service providers. With the belief that patient insights can transform the system, we’ve assembled a panel to assess practices and suggest improvements for a more efficient and inclusive mental health care system.
