The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk.

We will be working alongside Battersea Healthcare (www.bhcic.co.uk) to deliver NHS health checks to the community. We look to target those from BME and hard to reach communities who fit the following criteria:
-Registered with a GP in Wandsworth

-Not had a health check within the last 5 years

-Aged between 40-74

-Not have any known pre-existing medical conditions as per standard NHS Health Check criteria
WCEN will be working with our existing networks and other local groups to capture this information through bespoke events and linking the health checks in with our events, workshops and conferences.

The NHS health checks consist of blood pressure, weight, height and blood test (small finger tip prick) and this information will tell you whether you’re at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease or stroke
